Sheffield born rapper Assa has a distinctive flow and the content of a crazed loon. Raised by the shores of Blackpool and now living in and representing Manchester. Assa got in to hip hop at a young age listening to Busta Rhymes, Biggie, Big L, Tupac, Wu-Tang and anything he could get his grubby little hands on.He met Jay Madden at high school and became close friends as they were both trying to get a demo together, in fact they used to record lyrics on an old alarm clock with a built in microphone, now that’s ghetto. Assa knew Mic Dyson and Goldrush from around his ends and met Foola at uni, he pulled the group together and founded Primitive Form. Primitive form started to gain recognition around Blackpool and that quickly spread into Manchester, soon they were supporting the likes of Rahzel, Skinnyman, Klashneckoff and Dj Premier and became regulars at a local manchester hip hop night called Battle Scars. Due to unforeseen circumstances primitive form split and began to focusing on solo projects.Subsequently, releasing solo projects with no backing or platform turned out to expensive as fuck. Joining forces to create a super group featuring rappers and producers that were already working together seemed to be a better option. Tactical Thinking was an idea that derogatory (Surreal Knowledge) and leaf doc (3 Amigoes) came up with, a project to help lay foundations for future solo releases. The album 'Too Broke To Go Solo' features all 9 members of TT, its a stepping stone to showcase the talents of each induvidual artist. The idea is to release solo albums through Tactical Thinking as a label (think wu-tang, but white, geeky and British).

Too Broke To Go Solo has be well recieved and the single 'Superstars' was single of the month in novembers DJMAG and is still in Disorders (Suspect Packages) top ten albums of the year, read the full review here

Assaman has recently become a father and a proud one at that, and has had to push his album back to spend time with his family. Everyday user has been long awaited and has already gained big interest from Disorder at Suspect Packages. (Check Suspect Radio show)Everyday user promises to be a monumental album feat the all the Tactical Thinking crew with production from Naive, Mr Dick, BrainFlakes and Da Sharpest.The album was set for release in 2009 but after the decision came to release Too Broke Too Go solo, Assas decided to release the album summer 2010.
